3 big ideas discussed in this episode:

  • You have to be personally reliable before you can create reliable results through others.

Show Notes:

YOU HAVE TO BE PERSONALLY RELIABLE BEFORE YOU CAN CREATE RELIABLE RESULTS THROUGH OTHERS.

  • Personal Reliability x Coaching Reliability = Reliability Advantage
  • You can’t develop reliable performance from your team unless you are the first person reliable.
  • There are two components under Personal Reliability: knowing yourself and understanding the difference between timeline and deadline.

YOU CANNOT DO “SALT AND PEPPER” COACHING AT HOME OR AT WORK TO GET THE RESULTS YOU WANT.

  • Explain, ask, involve, measure and appreciate.
  • If you wanna explain the expectations the outcome and benefits you came is having an alignment of objectives to your team.
  • When you ask questions, you get engagement.
  • When you involve them, you get ownership.
  • When you measure, you get accountability.
  • When you appreciate, you are commitment.
  • It is a matter of choice.
  • If we chose to do it in a disciplined and habitual way, we’ll get these good results.

COACHING IS MUCH SIMPLER THAN YOU MIGHT THINK IF YOU CONSIDER THE PERSON BEHIND THE EMPLOYEE.

  • Being an excellent leader is still motivating people to work toward the goal.
